SheMachine and the Femme Cops (Nicole Steeves, Maria DeRosari & Michelle Sweeney), kick of the Film Shorts Screening with the premiere of their debut short film / music video A NEW ADDICTION, at HAL CON 2012, in Halifax NS. Hal Con is the largest Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Horror and Comic Convention on the East Coast of Canada. Shot by Jeff Wheaton and developed through the AFCOOP Film5 program.​

​With makeup provided by Nicole Steeves to all the Lady Parts Gals, and footage shot by Steph working with Maully of the Zombie walk and Leanne of HalCon was a great experience. We ended the night with an intimate Q&A with director Mick Garris after screening his movie: Stephen King's BAG OF BONES, and giving away door prizes, which included a limited edition copy of Mick's new book SNOW SHADOWS. ​​JULY 23 HORROR WEEKEND (Zombie walk & Screening) August 12th, 2012, 7:00pm)​
We are teaming up with Hal Con, the Zombie Walk and L.A. based Director/Writer, "Master of Horror" MICK GARRIS - to host a weekend of Horror. We will be screening his film BAG OF BONES - shot in Visit our Events page for more details.
JUNE 2nd Day 1 of A NEW ADDICTION Video Shoot. ​
LADY PARTS PRODUCTIONS kick off their weekend of shooting SheMachine: A NEW ADDICTION in Halifax. Written by, Directed by and starring Stephanie Clattenburg. Shot by DOP Jeff Wheaton, with Mike Clattenburg as 2nd Camera unit & Caitlin Campbell as the Camera Assistant/Trainee. Written by, Produced by & Starring Naomi-Joy, many thanks to our volunteer A.D.'s Agnes Laan, Mike Morris, and production assistants Dimitra Tsaltas & Robyn Troop, and Alicia Montague for behind the scenes footage. 3 locations indoors and 2 outside, with 33 members of the Cast and Crew on Set. Thanks to the many Background Performers who brought all kinds of fun, and colourful flare to their roles as Couture HIPSTERS! The day ended right on schedule.
FEB 2012 CONGRATS TO FILM5 AWARD WINNERS. ​
LADY PARTS PRODUCTIONS pitched A NEW ADDICTION to Film5 Jury at the end of phase 1. Our project was well received, with a near perfect score on our marketing plan and pitch. Unfortunately, we had to be disqualified from Phase 2 where the training program does not allow for such an ambitious endeavor while Producing and Directing; a completely understandable decision which we chose in the best interest of our project. We would like to thank AFCOOP for the opportunity to have developed our project through such an amazing program! We learned so much, and hope to work with AFCOOP again in the future...but next time we'll cast for roles! Congrats to the four teams of the following films, TORTUROUS, IRENE, LUCKY & 2-10 PLEASE REPEAT. We are so proud of you, and look forward to seeing your films!
​JUNE 3rd Day 2 of A NEW ADDICTION Video Shoot.
Off to a late start, but it was totally worth it, just to hang out with the Delorean (Car from BACK TO THE FUTURE), when it arrived. Thanks to Trevor for the amazing opportunity to shoot with that epic car and make Steph's dreams come true! Her 13 year old former self peed her pants from excitement! It was windy and super cold, but everyone worked together well and efficiently. Matt Chisholm is the best 1st A.D. Ever! Jeff Wheaton is an artistic visual genius! Dimitra & Agnes, we couldn't have survived the day without you being on top of...EVERYTHING! The actresses playing the Femme Cops were the ultimate professionals...freezing, and yet they gave an amazing performance. Jason Johnson our props and Art Department Key was always on the ball with new ways to make things look cool. Mark Ramsay, our Stills Photographer, got some AMAZING movie poster promo shots. And thanks to Marc Deveault (SP FX) and Colleen Dingle (stunt coordinator) for supervising and coordinating an epic moment in the story. Our Wardrobe and Makeup crew were brilliant and special thanks to Celeste-Noelle - SheMachine's 7 year old biggest fan - for giving warm hugs and passing a message along to our heroes to "NOT ACCEPT THE MESSAGE!" We finished on time, and that's a wrap!
JULY 6 NEW PROJECTS IN WRITING/DEVELOPMENT​
We've been very busy behind the scenes, writing and developing six new projects; A controversial short film written by Stephanie Clattenburg, A Dramatic Comedic play written by Nicole Steeves, A Feature length Horror/Thriller, being written by Naomi-Joy, a 6 episode Sitcom being written by Naomi-Joy and Lor Sangster, a music video concept story for AQuestrya, and a Libretto/Rock Opera written by Naomi-Joy & Mike Morris.
JULY 20 ​​​Femme Cop Busts SheMachine @ Pride Show​​​​
SheMachine kicked off PRIDE WEEK with AQuestrya and BURNT SUGAR, on Friday. They were escorted into the venue by a single Femme Cop who stood guard at the show during their whole performance. Haligonians were confused and intrigued, taking photos and video of the strange scenario. Mid performance, just when the crowd got dancing and a little too over stimulated by the music, the Femme Cop set off the alarm and got up on stage to arrest them. Thankfully due to the crowd's pleas, SheMachine was permitted to play one more song, their new tune THIS IS THE TIME, after which they were handcuffed and escorted out of The Company House.
